Letting Go #6/2013

So many times I have heard the saying, “You need to let go.” It could be said in regards to any number of things.
Fear.
Doubt.
Old self-concepts handed us by others and blindly accepted.
Anger.
Guilt.

Guilt is a big one. Guilt always seeks punishment. It is the great saboteur of love, joy and peace. It keeps me from experiencing all the love that I am – from giving it – receiving it.

So, how do I let go of guilt? By releasing every thought I have ever had that was contrary to the truth of the love that God says I am; every fear or doubt that I could be anything less than He created me to be.

Let your spirit soar!

In my last blog, I spoke of protecting myself from God’s love. I feared being overwhelmed and swept away. As I learn to receive His love, I am beginning to realize that much of my frustration came not only from fear of letting His love in, but from being afraid to let my love out. I was not allowing His great love to come through me. Since God is love and we are created in His image, withholding love from someone is contrary to our natural state of being. It cannot possibly feel right and it cannot be held back forever. Sooner or later, the dam has to break. Aaahhhhhh!

Let your spirit soar!
