I’ll Be There #20/2013
Before my ex-husband died in 2006, he owned a small pick-up truck which our son, Greg, inherited, and a red mustang that went to our oldest son, Michael. Seven years later, Michael still has the mustang that his dad coveted. When Greg got married two weeks ago, I was thrilled that Michael was able to fly in from Wyoming for the wedding, but I couldn’t help but wish that their dad could be there too. When Michael got to the car rental place at the airport, the attendant shrugged and said, “Well, it looks like you’ve been upgraded for some reason.” and handed him the keys. Later, as I watched wedding guests arrive at the hotel we had booked for the weekend, I was surprised and delighted to see Michael pull up in – you guessed it! – a red mustang.
